I was genuinely impressed by the kindheartedness of strangers this evening. I was waiting for the bus when I saw a little old lady waiting to cross the road. I was just about to waddle over to help her when a young man came from nowhere and offered her his arm. He crossed her over the road and then went on his merry way.

See, there is some good in this world.

Well the Brazilian GP has just finished. My man Mark Webber finished in second place in his last ever Grand Prix. I screamed and shouted when Red Bull were doing Vettel’s pit stop as it was a slow stop. But it didn’t work well for Webber as they had double stacked Webber and Vettel. But in the end Webber just couldn’t catch up with Vettel. At least he got a podium and I may have cried a tear or two for him!

There were some nice moments today though. At the start of the race Alonso gave Webber a big hug and on the victory lap Webber took off his helmet (probably a penalty but who cares!) and he looked pretty emotional! And Alonso came In third so at least Webber had a best mate on the podium with him.

Here’s some of my favourite photos of the day. There’s one moment that I saw on the tv coverage that no one seems to have a photo of and that was at the start of the race Alonso went over to Webber to give him a hug. It was beautiful!

So it’s Mark Webber’s final F1 race this coming weekend. Such a shame that he’s leaving the sport but I can understand why he’s moving on to other things. He says that the team politics is not the main reason for leaving but I’m pretty sure it’s partly to blame. And quite understandably so. I mean I get annoyed with the favouritism towards Vettel and I’m not even pat of the team!

To celebrate his F1 career there was an article in the Daily Telegraph recently. I don’t read the Daily Telegraph but fair play one of my bosses kept it for me (as he knew how much I fancied Webber!!). It’s an interesting article but what I found fascinating was the career statistics. His last F1 race win was Silverstone 2012 – and I can proudly say I was there to see it!!! I said the year before that I wanted to see Webber win at Silverstone and thankfully I got the chance. And it was awesome! Really really was wonderful!

Walking to the bus this evening and realised that all the shops have started putting up their twinkly Christmas lights and window displays. It’s always nice when the Christmas lights are up. Some shop displays are just lovely. I couldn’t get any decent photos but here’s a crappy quality photos I did take.

The street Christmas lights aren’t up yet but there’s another 3 weeks or so before they’re turned on. I think the town I work in is doing a late night shopping evening to get people to stay in town for the lights. I wonder whether we’ll open late (is there a need for an accountancy office to be open late?). I think maybe we should just to have our presence known at the late night.

My hometown normally does a similar thing. I’ll have to find out when it is. I might go up to see Nain and take her late night shopping maybe.

Christmas will be on us in just over 6 weeks which of course means baby will be due in just over 7 weeks – eek! With this in mind I’ve started looking at some Christmas presents for family and friends. They don’t read this blog so I feel safe enough to discuss what I’m planning on without spoiling the surprise!!

Family
Dad & co – some wine, maybe a jumper for Dad, a scarf for her, money for my stepbrother and a toy of some sort for my half brother – this one needs a bit more research as Dad is a difficult one to buy presents for!
Mam – some Honey and oatmeal soaps as she has skin allergy of some sorts and this soap is the cure!
Nain – likelihood is that she’ll get some soaps as well.
Aunt & Uncle – whisky for him and maybe the soaps or some
wine for her
Parents in law – we’re going to make a hamper of cheese, biscuits and choccies for them
Brother in law – some new dinner ware as he lost his when his house was flooded
Nain in law – small Baileys gift box

Friends
Best friend 1 – she’s started cross stitching recently so I’ve bought her a pattern book and I’m going to buy some DMC floss and some Aida fabric for her and make a cross stitch hamper
Best friend 2 & co – she’s gluten free so if I’m going to do a hamper then il have to make sure everything is GF. Or I might get some soaps of her. For her fiancĂ© I’ll get some choccies and for the kids I’ll get some sweeties and some puzzles.
Best friend 3 – this one is difficult. He’s a 40yro man and now has a girlfriend so my usual hoodie top may not work. I’ll have to have a think.

And finally I was thinking of getting my nice bus driver a small bottle of whisky.
