Further to my last post, still no sign of baby! People said try a hot curry – well I tried that yesterday and all it did was gave me really bad heartburn which is why I’m up at 3am posting this! I’ve just been downstairs to get some “medicinal” LoveHearts – I swear they work! Trouble is now I’m wide awake! So I’m sat up in bed listening to the new albums I got for Christmas (Boyzone – Greatest Hits, Boyzone – BZ20, Pitch Perfect Soundtrack and Britney Spears – Britney Jean).

I’m listening via headphones so that hubby can sleep – he’s back at work tomorrow! Wish I could be back at work! I love my work and miss the interaction with my colleagues. I don’t have a circle of friends so my social interaction comes from work mostly. I’m not completely cut off from work as I can still access my emails – which is how I ended up having the curry! My boss emailed to ask if baby had arrived and suggested I tried a curry!! I don’t know why I listen to him sometimes!

I shouldn’t complain about the curry as I enjoyed it at the time. We were bored and decided to go for a spin in the car. We ended up going to some home improvement shops to pick up brochures for kitchens and bathrooms. Also I picked up some chocolates and hubby & I had a quick picnic of choccies and McDonalds panad (cup of tea) in the car.

After that we went to a nice village for a walk and to the Chinese. We hadn’t been to the Chinese there in ages but last time we went it was so good! And I’m glad to say that the food is still as good as ever! We went all out – had some crispy seaweed with prawn toast, crispy duck pancakes and then my beef curry with fried rice and beansprouts! I was completely stuffed and couldn’t move afterwards!

Ok I think the worst of the heartburn is over so I might try to get some sleep again. Sorry if this post lacked focus but it is 3am!

It’s now 7.30am on Saturday the 4th of January and I’m up and about already. The reason for this is because I’ve had pains during the night which may have been the onset of early labour. I was up at 1am, 3am, 5am and then 6.30am with stomach pains. I had to wake the hubby up at one stage because I thought this is it but apparently it wasn’t so we went back to bed. I can’t say I’ve had a decent nights sleep! However I’ve been for a nice bubble bath and pains have ceased. Not sure if this is a good thing really as I really want this baby to arrive already!!

When I woke up at 6.30am I posted on a Facebook group* and some girls there gave me some advice. They said that this lasted for a couple of days for them so possibly baby may still be another few days before getting here. I had a read of the Bounty website about early labour signs and potentially this is what I’ve been experiencing. They had tips on what to do:

Tips to cope during early labour

Stay at home as long as possible. (Well I intend on staying home for the whole process so we’ll see how that goes)
Keep reasonably busy and active.
Have long relaxing baths. (One bath already done which helped)
Eat little and often to keep your energy levels up.
Try to rest and relax in different positions. (Yes I’ve found that lying down doesn’t help at the moment)
Go for walks, watch a really funny video.
Have a cuddle or massage with your partner. (He is currently fast asleep and snoring I might add!)

I’m currently debating over getting up and going downstairs to do some tidying or try to have a snooze to catch up on the sleep I didn’t get last night.

(* when I found out I as pregnant I joined a Facebook group. All the members were due December 2013 so we’ve all been experiencing similar stuff over the past couple of months. It’s been a great group to be a member of as we’ve all been sharing in the ups and downs of pregnancy. It’s also good to know that I’m not the only one worried about silly things! By now most of the members have had their babies and now the posts relate to bringing up baby stuff!)

Firstly let me wish everyone a Happy New Year! This year is going to be an exciting year for our house what with the impending arrival (yes still no sign of baby!). I was reading about the Zero to Hero challenge on WordPress this morning and I thought it might be fun to participate and reach out to more people and keep my blog alive.

Today’s post is an introductory post where I should introduce myself, give my reason for blogging, what I aim to talk about etc. so here goes! The questions were posted on the Zero to Hero page so I’ll start with that and take it from there.

Why are you blogging, rather than keeping a personal journal?
Well I’ve always had this website and I’ve been blogging on and off for years. I want to connect with people which is something you can’t do with a personal journal. Although I am going to be keeping a personal diary this year so I can keep a record of all the new baby experiences.

What topics do you think you’ll write about?
Well this year is going to be mostly about our baby and all the new experiences – good, bad and the ugly!

Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
Hopefully some nice, friendly, like-minded people who are experiencing or have experienced the same.

If you blog successfully throughout 2014, what would you hope to have accomplished?
Well firstly I don’t know how I would define whether my blog is successful… Is it that I have more vies? More comments? More followers? I’d be happy if I can just keep blogging and that it doesn’t become a chore for me.

This blog is my personal blog and I am not affiliated with any sort of company so you shouldn’t see me advertising or promoting anything in a commercial capacity. If I promote any products or anything then it is purely from my own experience of using that product or company. Additionally, all opinions are mine and I never intend on offending anyone.
