So I’ve been a bit quiet this week. I had planned on a foodie Friday post for Friday but never got it done. I came down with a horrid cold and was off work on Thursday and Friday. And it’s not like me to be off work!

Yesterday I’ve was feeling a bit more human. I managed to do 3 loads of washing, had a bath – yeah I’ve been ill and stinky! Also caught up with a week and half of Neighbours! And ate a big bar of Dairy Milk! I’ve also been busy cooking…. We’re having mince with onion and mushroom gravy, with mash potato and some crispy potato chips. Also making a vegetable hotspot with chicken – mainly because everything would go off if I didn’t use them.

Now my gorgeous little girl has got a cough so no doubt we’re in for a fun couple of days. She’s on Calpol and seems happy enough. She was very irritable on Thursday and if she falls over she’s more “cry-ie” than usual. She’s currently in her cot having a nap. We’ve booked her in to the nursery from January so we’re trying to get her into a routine of settling for naps in a cot because that’s what’s going to happen at nursery.

I must admit that I’m slightly nervous about her going to nursery. I’m sure she’ll be fine and it’ll do her good to be with other babies. I’ve booked the 15th and 16th December off work so I can take her there for settling in days. If she’s fine then I’ll leave her to it otherwise I’ll stay there with her for the day.

Today we popped out to The Range so I could buy some scrapbook decor. I’m making a scrapbook of Little Miss’ first holiday. In the shop I had a massive sneezing attack and have been lying on the sofa since getting back. So much for me starting to feel better!

I hope everyone’s weekend is better than mine!

Well the F1 sport seems to be in bit of a turmoil at the moment. Marussia F1 team still reeling from the Jules Bianchi accident has shut shop. It was sad to see footage of the team leaving the factory with all their belongings in boxes. 🙁 But it was heartening to hear Team Principal (is that former now?) Graeme Lowdon on the Sky F1 coverage discussing how it is possible for the team to be revived before Abu Dhabi (in 2 weeks time!) if the right investor is found. Today Sky F1 are reporting that Marussia administrators are in serious take over talks. I hope they can survive!

On the same day it was announced that Marussia had shut shop, it was announced that Caterham F1 team had also gone into administration. I saw the footage of the factory flags being lowered which was sad! Over the race weekend there was much talk about their “crowdfunding” idea which if I’ve understood correctly is basically begging the fans to fund them. (By today they’ve topped £1m but need a further £2m to get to Abu Dhabi). Christian Horner said that he didn’t think the crowdfunding idea was a good one because the fans already pay so much to attend the races that asking for them to fork out more was a bit much. I agree with him to some extent except if I had enough money I might have helped out.

Then to top all of this off there is talk of the top teams (Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari etc) would run 3 cars next season so that the grid is filled. However the smaller teams (Force India, Sauber etc.) believe that there is a conspiracy to drive out the smaller teams thus turning F1 into a 5 team sport. The person most vocal about this conspiracy is Bob Furnley of Force India. I hope he’s wrong as I wouldn’t want the sport to be whittled down to 5 teams. We need variety!

But there’s more!! The driver line up for next year still hasn’t settled. McLaren have yet to decide on a line up although apparently Alonso has signed for them in the biggest ever deal in F1. This is a bit of an odd combo in mind considering the 2007 season. Assuming this is true, who will partner him? A youthful Magnussen or an experienced world champion in the form of Jenson Button? I hope Button stays in F1 but if Mark Webber’s tweet is anything to go by then he’s off to join him in the WEC Endurance.

So interesting times in F1!

I hate to admit it but I’ve actually not read a book this year! I read a lot in 2013 whilst I was travelling to work on the bus. Let’s hope I can finish before the new year!

2.What is your favourite food to eat in autumn/winter?
As it happens I blogged about this a couple of weeks ago – lobscows which is basically a Welsh lamb stew.

3.Where was the last place you travelled to?
Malta – 14th to 21st October. I will blog about this soon!

4.What is your favourite snack food?
Hmmmm….. crisps is a good one. Or chocolate – current cravings are Twix and Flake!

5.If you could learn any language (and were guaranteed to actually manage it!), which would it be?
I think Spanish would be a good one. I already know French and Spanish would be the next choice.
