RSPCA’s #RehomingAngel Campaign

Adopt A Dog

I was recently contacted about the RSPCA’s #RehomingAngel campaign where they wanted to hear stories about people who have rehomed pets. Personally I have never rehomed a pet but it is something that I would love to do.

You may know that we have two dogs – Megs and Gemma – who we’ve had since they were pups. Before getting them we did discuss about taking a rescue dog. Our neighbour at the time had a lovely Jack Russell who was a rescue dog and I really wanted to do the same. Unfortunatley it wasn’t the right thing for us at the time. We were both working full time and we wouldn’t have been able to devote enough attention that a rescue dog would have needed.

(You’re porbbably thinking why did we get dogs at all if that was the case! Well they would be used to being at home together from a young age and we felt that we could cope with that)

If you’re looking for a furry friend then I suggest you check out the RSPCA’s find a pet page. The RSPCA are always looking for #RehomingAngels to adopt one of over 50,000 animals that need rehoming. The RSPCA have shelters all over the country and I’m pretty sure you’ll find the perfect furry friend for yourself.

Whether you decide on a rescue dog or buy from a breeder it’s essential that you read up about your chosen breed and how to look after a puppy. I would recommend that you read the RSPCA’s advice for rehoming dogs and how to become puppy smart!

Are you a #RehomingAngel? One day I hope to be one but in the meantime I’d love to hear your stories.

  1. We rescued a dog when we were kids that was about to be put down because no one wanted him. He was the best dog I have ever known. When I was young he would let me and my brother dress him up, he even let my brother give him a haircut one day (oops!). As a teenager he was my confidant and knew all my secrets. He had such a lovely nature and enriched all of our lives. #picknmix

  2. Lovely campaign. I got my dog as a puppy from a great breeder and for us it was the best decision we could take.

  3. This is a lovely campaign, thanks for linking to #PickNMix
