 Day 4 – Christmas Movies

MOVIES!! My favourite topic!

Die Hard

It’s been a bit of an argument before now but we have concluded that Die Hard is most definetly a Christmas movie! (Hey it’s being shown on Sky Christmas Movies channel – that’s proof enough for me!). I can’t remember how old I was when I first saw this movie – I know I wasn’t a child. But I remember watching it with Dad and Taid when we were all living at Taid’s house. I clearly remember thinking that Hans Gruber was a fantastic villian!! This is the film that made me an Alan Rickman fan!

The Muppet Christmas Carol

If you’re looking for something a bit more traditional then this is the film for you! It’s based on the Charles Dickens novel “A Christmas Carol” but of course played out by the Muppets. Gonzo is Charles Dickens (the narrator), Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy star as Bob and Emily Cratchit and fabulous Michael Caine is Ebeneezer Scrooge.

Others

Then the other films I like watching around Christmas are some Disney ones like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Robin Hood. Oh and also Home Alone! Can’t forget Home Alone… although I think that Home Alone 2 is better than the first…. who wouldn’t want to run around a toy shop in New York at Christmas?!

My mum always forced us to watch The Sound of Music at Christmas. It’s not even a Christmas film, but it was always on then and she LOVES it!

Edward Scissorhands is a good one. And Gremlins.

[…] This has to be my second favourite Michael Caine film (first would be Muppers Christmas Carol).  […]
