I’m participating in the Make A Habit / Break A Habit Link Up again this month.

January Re-Cap

Habits to Make

  • Substitute unhealthy snacks for healthier options – so rather than having that chocolate bar I’ll have an apple.
  • Substitute my tea for decaff tea – this one is medically advised!

Habits to Break

  • Biting my nails – this has always been one I’ve tried to break. I can do so for a couple of months but then start off again!
  • Leaving my desk untidy – my desk is currently full of bits of paper and files and I really need to start filing more often!

I knew January would be a struggle because it’s the busiest time of year at work. So I didn’t really manage any of my goals. Whilst I didn’t quite substitute all my bad snacks for healthy snacks I did manage to eat some fruit salads in and amongst all the chocolates! I have managed to switch to de-caff tea at home but not at work. We will try again this month!!

February Goals

So on top of the January ones I hope to achieve the following. It’s not much but baby steps eh?!

Habits to Make

  • Make my own lunch to take to work – saves a bit on the pennies! And I’ve even started this today! My aim is that 4 days a week I make my own lunch and then 1 day a week I have a treat.

  • Leaving the dirty dishes overnight – yes I am that lazy!

    Umm… we almost always leave the dishes over night :-/

      Yeah so do we but I’ve found that I have no time in the morning to tidy up which is why I’m trying to get into the habit of doing them in the evening instead.

        Yeah… when I say we leave them overnight, I mean they sit there til I HAVE to wash them to be able to cook the following evening (then I don’t want to wash them after we eat because I just washed them before tea – vicious circle!).

          Oh yeah no that’s what I mean by leaving them overnight as well!! Washing dishes is such a pain in the arse!

    Omg, I totally am with you on the tidiness thing. I HATE cleaning and I am SUPER lazy!!!! I need to make regular cleaning a March habit.

      No problem – thanks for visiting! I’m still hoping to crack the “doing the dishes” in Feb but no doubt it’ll rollover into March!

    Cutting out caffeine is so hard, but once you do it I think it feels awesome. I used to be a huge coffee drinker and now I feel really terrible if I have just a little bit!
    And I am so with you on leaving the dishes overnight– this was one of my habit goals a few months ago and I never really made much progress on it. Hopefully you have better luck than me!

      I don’t even drink coffee! My caffeine comes from the tea I drink (regular British tea) and chocolate. So I thought it’d be easier to cut the tea than the chocolate! I’ve not quite managed to cut if out compeltely since I keep forgetting to take de-caff to work with me! Oh yeah and the doing the dishes isn’t going too great either! I will crack it though! But getting hubby to do it a different matter entirely!
