Last weekend we went for a walk around town. Here’s some photos of the day. (Image heavy under the cut)
Some boats on Cei Llechi
More boats on Cei Llechi – we were looking for our neighbour’s boat. Found it eventually (isn’t in this photo)
The swing bridge – for pedestrians only
Me in my F1 gear!
A view of the Menai Straits
Steps down to the water – when the tide is out it takes you down to the sand
Castle walls – quite dominating!
Harbour walk along the castle walls.
The Council have spent money installing these quotes along the castle walks. This one says “here is where I should be as well”
Then sometimes I don’t really know what they translate to!! But I believe it means “they saw the castle from the estuary”
“pulling the pint rope to drag the schooner along the quay”
Someone lives in that little turret! LOVE IT!
Another turret house – I don’t think they use that little door as a front door but wouldn’t it be cool?Another view of the Menai Straits – the land mass seen in the distance is Anglesey
“In Welsh it is to speak, in Welsh it is to swear”
This turret is the North West corner (I think!) and there’s a church beside it.
Close up of the church window
Hubby and the dogs trying to read the quotes
That’s one massive anchor!
“I’m careful and why? Because I miss Caernarfon”
Hubby and the dogs with the very appropriate quote “come little Co, we shall go for a walk along the quay” (Co means a young person from Caernarfon)
This one is something about untidy seagulls in the air – photobombed by Megs!
Market day on the Maes!
I bought this for hubby since he was thirsty!
