It was so sunny today we decided to go for a walk to Llanberis with Little Miss and the doggies. Our first outing as a fivesome! Here’s a selection of my favourite photos of the day – for some reason WordPress has inserted them in reverse order but I can’t be bothered to re-sort!
Gemma and Megs ready for home!
Canoeists and kayakers at the jetty
Megs and Gemma cooling their paws
Part of Padarn Lake with the quarries in the backgroudnd.
Seagulls over Padarn Lake
Another view of the quarries. The little turrets you can see in the middle of the photo is the Slate Museum.
The rest of Vivian Quarry
Railway bridge with Dolbadarn Castle in the background. Mountain range in the background is part of Snowdon – highest mountain in Wales.
“Fron Haul” at the Slate Museum – old quarrymen houses from my home town. They were taken down brick by brick and rebuilt at the slate museum.
Padarn Lake Railway
Looking back at Vivian Quarry from the archway
Sunlit archway with the Slate Museum in the background
Archway back to Slate Mueseum from Vivian Quarry
Vivian Quarry lake
Small view of the lake and quarry remains at Vivian Quarry.
Where the divers enter the water at Vivian Quarry
An old truck still suspended over the now water filled Vivian Quarry
Some old quarry gear
This doesn’t need a caption!
Another view of the power station and some of the quarries.
Llyn Peris with the power station on the left
I’ve always wondered where that tunnel leads to. Also fascinated by how clear the water is here.
Gemma and Megs hoping for some chips!
A brief view of the quarries behind the trees
Random figure stood at the end of the jetty. I’d love to know what he’s thinking.
There’s a few photos I didn’t get today for example the old quarry hospital and a view of the whole lake. I’ll post another photo day for the rest of the views.
Hope you all had a great Good Friday!
