Six different pastel pink images of girl's bedroom ideas

Little Miss is now 4.5 years old! She’s growing up fast! Unfortunately she’s outgrown her farmyard themed bedroom. She’s become a proper little girl and is loving princesses and frilly things. So with that in mind, I’ve been gathering ideas for a princess bedroom for her. I’ve even setup a Pinterest board especially.

Pastel Paint

First job on the list – repaint the whole room! If we’re going princess theme, then the walls need to be pink! So get rid of the pastel greens and have pastel pink walls instead.

Feature Wall

Next thing to do is replace the farmyard mural with a princess of fairy mural instead. I’ve been browsing the selection of princess murals at Wallsauce.com and I think my favourite is the Enchanted Woodland Princess. She would love the pink princess and the greens of the woodland would match the green carpet she currently has in her bedroom – waste not, want not eh?

Reading Corner

Little Miss has shown an interest in reading books. She’ll open a book and “read” it to her little sister. She can’t read yet but looks at the photos and makes up a story. So I’m hoping to create a little reading corner for her. Have all her books and a beanbag or some cushions to sit on. A little cosy nook is what I have in mind.

Bunk Beds

Girls bedroom with pink walls, white bunk bed, and teepee

She loves the idea of bunk beds! This is after staying in Drayton Manor last year and sleeping in the Thomas The Tank bunk bed there. She can’t wait to get her own bunk bed. I’m also loving the Ikea style bed canopies. Oh and of course new princess bedding!

We bought Gracie a princess castle bed….but feel she will grow out of it quite quickly. Looking back I wouldn’t have got it and just gone for something white. Keep the furniture more neutral so it can grow with her.

Yeah that’s the same problem we have with the mural. The bed we got is white and will grow with her for a few years at least.

    Thanks for commenting x 🙂
