The Mami Tag

The Mami Tag

I saw this tag last year when I was home with Little Miss but I never completed it.. so I thought I’d do it now instead.

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum, or a Working Mum?
I’m a working mum – or I will be in two weeks time!

2. Would you have it any other way?
I’m probably a bad mother for saying this but no I don’t think I would. Of course, the girls will always be my first priority but I’m still the person I was before they came along. The person I was before LOVED work and even now I can’t imagine not working. I would like a better work life balance though but unfortunately with the distance to work it’s just not possible. But if truth be told, I’m not looking forward to going back to work as much as I did last time around.

3. Do you co-sleep?
No! MissMostyn is still in a moses basket in our room (until she’s 6 months) and Little Miss is in her cot in her room. She’ll be moving to a big girl bed at Christmas though!

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
Mr Bwns! I cannot leave the house unless we have Mr Bwns and a Nwns (a dummy or pacifier). MissMostyn is still too young to have formed an attachment to anything yet.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?
Two and no more. Hubby would like more but two is my limit. I want to get “back to normal” with a work routine.

6. Date night? How many nights per month?
We’ve been on occasional date nights whilst LittleMiss was our only baby but since MissMostyn’s arrival we haven’t had a date night at all. Although we have booked babysitters (Nain & Taid) for the weekend of October 9th/10th!!

7. Your child’s favourite show?
Clearly MissMostyn isn’t old enough to have favourite shows but LittleMiss is! She loves Thomas The Tank Engine (she’s definitely my girl!) and her current favourite film is Finding Nemo which have to watch at least twice a day!

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
Bottle warmer! Tommee Tippee had a bottle warmer that “accompanied” the steraliser but due to the fact that you’re not supposed to re-heat bottles it was a waste of money!

9. Your child’s favourite food?
Cacan! Egg custard tart!

Egg custard tart

She loves the egg custard tarts – the tea is mine!

10. How many cars does your family have?

Two – would love to be able to survive on just one but unfortunately that’s not possible in this neck of the woods.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
I don’t actually know. I need to lose some weight now really but I think I’m back to what I was previously. I’m actually considering joining Slimming World!

12. Dream holiday with your kids?
Disney! We’ve been to Disneyland  Florida once for our honeymoon but I think we’ll both admit that it’ll be just magical with kids.

13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Australian Grand Prix – enough said!

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?
It’s odd to say but I don’t think my life has changed that much since the kids were born. Obviously the overwhelming sense of responsibility and protectfulness that consumes me is new but actual day to day stuff hasn’t changed. It’s the emotional stuff that have changed.

15. Finish the sentence: ‘It makes my heart melt to see … ‘
Little Miss fast asleep in her cot or MissMostyn fast asleep in hers!

16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Wherever is cheapest!! She outgrows things so fast that there is no point in spending much. But choice shops are Tesco, Asda and Primark.

17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
I don’t wear makeup and I haven’t got a skincare routine. So I don’t own any products!

18. Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers without a doubt!

19. Have you always wanted kids?
Before meeting my husband I would’ve said no thank you but on our third (or so) date we discussed kids and he said he wanted some which got me thinking….and now we have two!

20. Best part about being a mum?
The love that exists between me & my girls. It’s unconditional and just fills my heart with pure joy! Seeing their smiling faces is so worth the sleep deprivation!

I’m not tagging anyone specific but you’re more than welcome to participate! Let me know if you do!

Always, this is lovely. You can feel your love for your girls shining through.
Obviously I can’t do the tag now, but maybe in a year or 2…

This was lovely to read! I wish my sister was like you, she’s already got 3 kids and wants more even though she gets really poorly during pregnancy!
I’d like to think I’ll stay working once I have kids but my mum and sister both thought the same and ended up wanting to be stay at home mums. I guess we will see though- maybe that’ll be what makes me start a cake decorating business! Hopefully I’ve got at least a few more years before I have to worry about any of that though! 😛

I said from the beginning I only wanted two – always felt that if there was more I couldn’t give them enough time. But I know some people like big families.

I don’t think I could ever be a full time stay at home mam – it would drive me mental! But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss my girls when I’m at work. I start back next week and not looking forward to it this time 🙁

I think I would want to go back to work too so I totally hear you on that one! I don’t think it makes you a bad mother at all!
