Summer is on the way (or here if the bank holiday weather was anything to go by) and so inevitably I’m thinking summer-body needs a spruce! But really, it’s not the summer body thing that worries me but really my health in general. I will admit, I eat way too much and get very little exercise. It’s when life insurance companies come back and tell you that your life insurance premium is going up due to my rubbish BMI, is when I think … ohkay I need to do something!
So whether you want to trim down your figure a little bit or have a significant amount of weight to lose, improving your health should be a top priority. Although there are several ways to lose weight quickly, it’s important to bear in mind that many diet plans, food replacement products, and supplements don’t always support healthy and consistent weight loss. Losing weight too quickly can lead to a range of health problems, sagging skin, and even make you more susceptible to gaining weight quickly in the future. If you want to lose weight at a healthy rate and keep it off for good, here are some of the best strategies to use.
#1. Research any Supplements You Use:
Using supplements can be a good way to offer healthy support to your weight loss journey. Alongside a healthy, balanced diet and regular physical exercise, you can choose from a wide range of supplements designed to promote weight loss and improve health. These may not always be listed as weight loss specific products; for example, multivitamins, zinc, and iron can all be great supplement choices to support healthy weight loss. You may also want to consider supplements designed specifically to promote weight loss, such as caffeine and green tea capsules*, raspberry ketones, or Garcinia cambogia. HCG drops might also be worth considering – learn more from this HCG diet review.
* this is something I was looking into recently as I’ve been told that green tea capsules could help with hair loss recovery.
#2. Increase Your Workout Intensity:
Getting the most out of your workouts will help you lose body fat faster and tone up your muscles, making for a tighter and more streamlined figure. Even if you can only make it to the gym a few times a week, getting as much as you can out of each workout will help you see the results that you need faster. For example, incorporating weight training into your workout will help to speed up your metabolism and burn fat by converting it into muscle. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is also an effective choice for burning off as many calories as possible in a short amount of time.
#3. Stay Hydrated:
Increasing the amount of water that you drink each day will not only improve your health through good hydration, but it will also help to suppress your appetite and stop you from over-eating, particularly on the wrong foods. Sipping on water throughout the day will help to keep you fuller for longer and comes with a wide range of benefits for your digestive health, hair, skin, and nails. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t drink enough water… tea I’m good with, water not so much.
#4. Listen to Your Body:
By getting to know yourself and understanding what your body needs, you can make significant changes to your health and fitness levels. For example, instead of eating three set meals per day, divide your food consumption into smaller meals and snacks throughout the day when you are hungry. Get into the habit of serving yourself smaller portions – it’s always better to go back and make more, as it will help you avoid wasting food. What’s more, it’ll prevent you from overeating simply because the food is on your plate.
