I used to live with my Taid (grandad) and I moved out after meeting my husband. To this day I still feel guilty for leaving him on his own. I&#8217;m sure he was so lonely and I&#8217;m sure that was partly why he became so ill in the end. I wish I could&#8217;ve gone to see him more often. It&#8217;s a shame that he couldn&#8217;t hear very well as I could&#8217;ve phoned him. I did some very brief research and found that there&#8217;s a charity called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.contact-the-elderly.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Contact The Elderly<\/a>&#8221; and they cover the whole of the UK! You can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.contact-the-elderly.org.uk\/become-a-volunteer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">volunteer<\/a> in a number of ways including hosting groups, taking an elderly out for an afternoon or help with PR. She lives alone but I phone her every other day but I think I need to make more effort to take her out. I think the last time I took her out was at the end of September when I took her and my girls to Porthmadog. We had a play around in the park and had lunch in a cafe. Now that it&#8217;s Autumn I think I&#8217;m going to try and convince her to come to our house for Sunday lunch one a month instead. Maybe I could volunteer to host a tea party?
