Long time readers of the blog know that I’ve gotten back into rollerblading. I’m determined to get out on them more this year. So with that in mind, when my Tuesday morning plans fell through, I found myself and the rollerblades in Llanberis and heading to the Amgueddfa Lechi<\/a>! I took the GoPro with me but forgot the helmet adapter!<\/p>\n

I parked up at Pen Y Llyn carpark which is the only one I can use my season ticket at. Being a cold February Tuesday afternoon the carpark was practically empty save for the three lorry loads of construction workers! Typical I had an audience for my first rollerblading session of 2018!! I donned on the rollerblades and headed off down the path which travels along the lake and towards to Electric Mountain visitor centre.<\/p>\n

From there I had to go along the main road towards the slate museum as the pavement was rather bumpy. The road wasn’t much better and I almost took a tumble a few times. Thankfully, I didn’t actually fall! Yay! I reached the slate museum in 16 minutes and was there before opening time of 10am! So I sat on the bench outside just taking in the view. As I sat there I decided that it’s one of my favourite places in the world.<\/p>\n

At 10am the horn sounded and the gates opened. The rollerblades came off (you can’t rollerblade on slate footpaths!) and I walked through to the Ffowntain Cafe. There I had a lovely panad and a sausage bap! I didn’t go round the Amgueddfa Lechi as I wanted to go see Vivian Quarry.<\/p>\n

Vivian Quarry<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

This place is an absolutely stunning! It was part of the larger Dinorwig<\/a> (or Dinorwic) Quarry but was closed in 1960s after the decline of the slate industry. After closure of the mine, pumps no longer pumped water from the mine and so the mine flooded.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The lake at Vivian Quarry is said to be approx 18 meters deep. It is a popular spot for divers and a simple Google image search<\/a>\u00a0will bring up lots of amazing underwater treasures!<\/p>\n

Not only that but this lake has been used as filming locations for some Hollywood films including the most recent King Arthur film where one of the stuntmen jumped into the water from this huge rock!<\/p>\n
