I’ve been wanting to go trampolining at Bounce Below, Zipworld<\/a> for a while and FINALLY I got the chance! I found at that there’s a 2-4-1 offer on Mondays up to the end of March so I quickly booked a day off and headed up to Blaenau Ffestiniog<\/a>. I was a bit fearful that my adventure would be called off due to the fact there was no running water in Blaenau Ffestiniog that day. But the guys at Bounce Below phoned me to remind me of my booking and to warn me that the cafe would be closed.<\/p>\n

Bounce Below at Zipworld<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After getting to Bounce Below (which are located at Llechwedd Slate Caverns) we went to be checked in. We were given our hair nets and helmets before we headed into the caverns. For me, the walk into the caverns was lovely… memories flooded back. The guide warned us not to go off exploring the caverns as she was responsible for making sure everyone left after the hour was up. She didn’t really want to spend the rest of her life searching the caverns for a lost adventurer…. ah dammit!<\/p>\n

It’s a Workout!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After listening to the safety instructions we were let loose on the Bounce Below trampolines. There was a group of around 10 of us going on at the same time so it was very difficult to get into a rhythm. Soon enough people went off in different directions. At the point of booking I had to answer some medical questions and at the time, I didn’t see the relevance.<\/p>\n

After jumping around for a bit we soon realised why the questions was relevant! It’s a workout! Whilst the slate caverns are cold, jumping on the trampoline nets works up a sweat in no time! You have to wear clothes that cover your body, arms and legs – you don’t want to get a rope burn! But don’t wear too many layers because you’ll soon find yourself stripping!<\/p>\n

Massive Caverns<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The caverns are immense! The trampolines spread over multi levels and different caverns. In the largest cavern you will be bouncing around 180 feet above the cavern floor! Not that you feel high from the ground. In fact, unless you actually look through the netting, you couldn’t tell how high up you are. There’s a number of slides to slip down to the different levels. And of course there’s passages made of nets to take you back up. Even though there’s a group of people there, it’s still quiet and eerie – but in a good way! I love the fact that they’ve turned these old slate mine caverns into an attraction and get people into this beautiful area<\/a>.<\/p>\n
