10 Reasons to Love Autumn

Today is the Autumnal Equinox (or first day of Autumn) and I must admit, I love this time of year! Here’s 10 random thoughts about Autumn

1) Colours

This season has to best for colours! From your yellows to your reds and browns it’s just amazing.

2) Conkers

I love them but haven’t gone collecting for a while. As a child conker collecting was a big thing! As was playing conkers – although lots o bruised knuckles if my memory serves me correctly!

3) Weather

The weather may be “miserable” by some peoples standards but if truth be told, I feel at home in the wind and rain.

4) Fashion

I’m not a fashionable person but I appreciate style. In other words, I might not wear it but I like looking at it attitude! I love comfy style that appears this time of year. After browsing Pinterest I must admit that I’m loving the dresses, leggings/tights & boots look as well!

5) Leaves

I love the crunchiness of fallen leaves (and of course their colours)

6) Guy Fawkes Night

It’s a bit of a weird one but in 5th Nobember we celebrate Guy Fawkes night with bonfire and fireworks. I’ve not been to a display in years so might try and go this year.

7) Good food

It’s time to bring out the nice hearty meals such as lobscows!

8) Boots

I wear boots all year around but at least now I don’t look stupid wearing them! I’ve bought some really nice ones for my return to work.

9) Starlings

I love adore watching hundreds of Starlings fly over on my way to work. I just wish I could sit there and watch them.

10) Nature photos

The combination of the weather, leaves, and colours make for some spectacular photos! I mean look at these beauties.

  1. Lovely list x I can’t wait for Bonfire night! I’ve been every year to the biggest one in the area, it lasts for 20 minutes and there is ice cream… it’s perfect 🙂

  2. Aww, hedgehogs! I love autumn colours too -I just wish they would last for more than 5 minutes before the leaves all disappear! Bare trees are so depressing.

The best autumn food is pumpkins -I want to eat them all year round!

  3. Gemma - Nagging Mother

Awww those hedgehogs are adorable! I prefer Spring to Autumn but I do love the change in colours of the trees but I am now just counting down the days til they come back again!
