… yesterday was such an awful start to the week! Hubby was flying over to Dublin to film a Welsh quiz show called “Celwydd Noeth”. I phoned him on my way to work to check that he had his passport, Euros and bag packed – “yes, yes and yes”.
I got to the office and was told my boss had a meeting with a client at 10am which he wanted me to attend. At 11.30am I came out of the meeting to a message from hubby to say he’d arrived at the airport.
Heard nothing until 1.10pm when he phoned me to say “I’ve brought your passport!” His flight was due to leave at 1.30pm! Not entirely sure what I was meant to do in those 20mins as I couldn’t even get home in 20mins never mind to Liverpool airport!
Cue lots of panic phonecalls and in the end his Mum found a spare key for our house, his Dad finished early to pickup that passport and take it to him. Thankfully he didn’t have to pay for the later flight – the tv production company rearranged the whole thing. So he managed to catch the 7.30pm flight instead.
So after getting the message to say it was all sorted I thought “yes I can carry on with work!” but nope! At 3.20pm I get a phonecall from the childminder to say Little Miss had been ill. Which meant I had to leave to fetch her because normally Taid would’ve gone but by this point he was on his way to Liverpool with hubby’s passport!
I headed off to fetch her and after I got to the nursery they said that she’d had the runs and had thrown up twice which means she can’t go back today – so I have to stay home today to look after her.
On my way home I called for reinforcements – my Mam! As it happens she needed to be in my town for something early today so she offered to say the night. Although it wouldn’t have been too much of a problem if she hadn’t as MIL had offered to take MissMostyn for the night so I could concentrate on Little Miss. I opted to bring MissMostyn home so my Mam could see her since she doesn’t see her often anymore.
After I put Little Miss to bed I came back down and hubby phoned to say he had landed safely and I mangled this post together whilst watching MissMostyn try to roll over! She can manage to roll onto her front but then starts crying because she gets stuck!
Ahh anyhow, this was not the post I had planned on doing today – I had wanted to post all about the blogger event I went to on Saturday (#LplBlogEvent) but that’s another story….
Did your week start better than mine did?
Oh no, silly hubby!
I hope Little Miss is feeling better.
That is a really awful way to start the week. I hope the little one feels better now. x
Unfortunately she’s still not well. I’ve managed to get Nain & Taid to watch after MissMostyn whilst I take care of Little Miss though. x
Such an idiot! But at least he got there and sounds like it was worth it! 🙂 Little Miss still not well but hopefully she’ll be ok soon.
