As we walked through the airport towards the bus we spotted signs for Rancho Texas and it looked like a fun day out. We decided to book it as our Tuesday outing. Below is another vlog of our day but if you prefer to read about our day out then skip the video and carry on…
…we had a coach transfer from the hotel to Rancho Texas and after waiting for 30mins it finally turned up! I was getting rather worried we’d been conned!
Before I go on you should know that Rancho Texas is styled as an American ranch… hence the name! So everywhere was all cowboys and indians. There was a little play area made from old carts which we had fun on!
After getting to the park we made our way through the gates and first thing we see is a couple of owls. Which in all honesty were ideal because Sheffield Wednesday had won the night before.
After that we saw some parrots, snakes, lizards and an alligator turtle. That was pretty impressive – had never seen one of them before. I couldn’t get a decent photo but the name is pretty descriptive though.
Then we saw a white tiger and a leopard and then some armadillos and a bison. There was a bird of prey display there with eagles and condors. We only caught the end of it but they were pretty impressive.
The absolute best thing was the sealions. We didn’t catch the show but we did catch the photoshoot! Oh my word he was just so gorgeous!! We got a photo of me & Miss Mostyn with him and of hubby & Little Miss and him. The photo quality below is a bit rubbish because it’s a photo of a photo. We spent a while watching the sealions swim around the pool.
We went to see some farmyard animals including a cute white pony. The pony tried to eat Little Miss’ shoes! There was also a beautiful white stallion but he was shy and hiding in the shed. A little further along there was some baby billy goats! But they weren’t half as much fun as the goats in the videos being shared on Facebook! 🙂
After watching the sealions swim around a bit more – we could have watched them all day – we went to have a look at the pool area. There was a magnificent pool area there – would have been so much fun if we’d had enough time to go swimming.
So that was Day 3 of our Lanzarote trip! If you’re ever there then I would recommend Rancho Texas as a family day out!
Have you ever been here?
